Full-time writer and blogger, Perry, Phillip, in his blog, “Black or White? Ancient Egyptian race mystery now solved” published on January 16, 2022, it addresses the topic of the solved mystery of the Ancient Egyptian race and argues that with all the controversy surrounding the Ancient Egyptians race it has been discovered that they were from the near east particularly from levant making them european, closer genetic affinities to the middle east and africans. He supports this claim by using the studies led by different archaeogenetics and researchers who then found evidence by testing DNA samples from different egyptian mummies, and finally getting results from different labs. Perry’s purpose is to educate people on the topic of Ancient Egyptian race mystery that has been going on for a long time and telling the true results of what they really were. He adopts a formal tone for his audience, the readers of “Black or White? Ancient Egyptian race mystery now solved” is his audience group interested in his blog and others interested in the topic of Ancient Egyptian race.

Freelance Educator and writer, Lesso, Rosie, in her academic article, “Were Ancient Egyptians Black?”, published on February 9, 2022, Addresses the topic of the Ancient Egyptian race, and argues that all the artifacts that have been discovered and studies that have been done over the ancient Egyptian period for thousands of years have shown many instances of what race Ancient Egyptians could be. She supports this claim by factual evidence of the many texts, artworks, and mummies that have studied upon, then she mentions a Michael Jackson music video from 1991 for remember the time which was one of the most popular allusions to this interpretation of black egyptian history, and finally the many other artifacts and studied DNA used to see if Ancient Egyptians were closely related to the people of the Eastern Mediterranean and Near East. Lesso’s purpose is to educate people and solve the question of whether Ancient Egyptians were black. She adopts a formal tone for her audience, the readers of “Were Ancient Egyptians Black?” are the group interested in her writings and blog and others interested in the topic of Ancient Egyptians.

In my synthesis one of the central sources are how both authors use similar types of evidence to explain the topic of the race of ancient Egyptians. One example from “Were Ancient Egyptians Black?”, “In recent times, scientists have made a series of radical breakthroughs about ancient Egyptians by studying the DNA sequences of mummies. Their discoveries suggest many ancient Egyptians were closely related to the people of the Eastern Mediterranean and Near East, a land today covering Jordan, Israel, Turkey, Syria and Lebanon.” Another example is from “Black or White? Ancient Egyptian race mystery now solved”, “The problem, it was thought, is that mummy DNA couldn’t be sequenced. But a group of international researchers, using unique methods, have overcome the barriers to do just that. They found that the ancient Egyptians were most closely related to the peoples of the Near East, particularly from the Levant. This is the Eastern Mediterranean which today includes the countries of Turkey, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon.” The connections I see across both of my sources are how both use information from different studies, DNA tests, Artifacts, and more to discover and solve the race of the Ancient Egyptians.
